Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I donate sanitary items?
The women’s refuge we worked with to set up our appeal receive a lot of sanitary products direct from the supplier. They can also be seen as a trigger for some women. Therefore, we have decided to refrain from collecting them for this particular project. If you wish to donate these items directly to your refuge you can do so.
Where do the bags go?
The bags are donated directly to women’s refuges, who then distribute them to women staying in their accommodation, and clients that come for counselling or help at their centres. Bags are also kept at local hospitals and given to women who have been admitted due to domestic violence, have no possessions and are unable to return home.
What size bag can I donate?
The bags should be roughly 30cm, so big enough to fit lots of items in. Bags that are too small are donated to local charity shops.
Can I donate money?
We are a charitable initiative, rather than a registered charity, so we cannot accept money. You can however buy directly from our Amazon Wishlist, or other health and beauty retailers, and send the items to FAO Love Grace, Hemmings Stores Too, Church Rd, Billericay, CM11 1RN. You can also donate to the White Ribbon charity or their local women’s refuge in Grace’s name.
Is it only in the UK?
No, not at all! We have had many appeals run around the world. Including New Zealand, USA, Canda and Singapore. We are hoping to run one in Australia very soon.
Where can I drop off my handbag donation?
All our drop off points can be seen on our Donate page. New drop off points are constantly being added so please look out for updates in your local area.
